Our Rose Policy
We take great pride in sourcing our roses from the finest growers in Canada. Every rose plant we send is a Grade 1 rose, the highest industry standard for health, size, and root development.
Quality You Can Trust
Before any rose leaves us, it undergoes a thorough quality check. We ensure your roses are healthy, dormant, and ready to burst into life. While they are "resilient warriors" capable of handling the journey, they are still living treasures that require a little partnership once they arrive in your garden.
Pre-Order & Delivery Timeline
All of our roses are currently available for Pre-Order. To ensure your roses arrive at the optimal time for planting:
-
Shipping Window: Orders are shipped from mid-March to late April.
-
Variety Timing: Specific shipping dates depend on the variety and when they are ready to leave our Canadian growers.
-
Tracking: For all non-local deliveries, you will receive a tracking ID via email as soon as your roses are on their way.
Local Love: Windsor-Essex Residents!
-
Free Shipping: We are proud to be part of this community! Shipping is completely free for all orders within the Windsor-Essex region. This discount is automatically applied at checkout based on your postal code.
-
Delivery Notice: Since we handle local deliveries personally, we will reach out to you directly bia email or text to coordinate your delivery window between mid-march and late April.
Changes & Cancellations
We coordinate our stock with our Canadian suppliers months in advance to secure your specific varieties.
-
Small Tweaks: Swapping varieties? Email us right away—if it's before the shipping season and the variety is available, we’re happy to help.
-
Cancellations: You may cancel your order for a refund (minus fees) until Dec 31st of prior year. After this date, our orders with our suppliers are locked in and cannot be cancelled or refunded.
-
Administrative Fee: All valid cancellations are subject to a firm 10% administrative fee to cover non-refundable payment processing and handling time.
-
Once Shipped: All sales are final. We do not accept returns or offer refunds for plants once they have left our care.
Shipping & Address Realities
While we pack with care, once the roses leave us, they are in the hands of the carrier.
-
Carrier Liability: For non-local deliveries, we are not responsible for packages that are delayed, lost, or damaged by the carrier, or stolen after delivery. For any issues during transit, please contact the carrier directly.
-
Address Errors: Please double-check your address! We cannot refund or replace orders that do not reach you due to an incorrect address provided at checkout.
-
Unclaimed Returns: If a package is returned as "unclaimed," we cannot reship or refund. The stress of the return journey is usually fatal for the plant.
Our Commitment to You
We stand behind the Grade 1 quality of the plants we source and provide detailed care guides to help you succeed.
Situations eligible for a full refund or replacement:
-
Inventory Issues: If our suppliers are unable to provide a variety (due to weather or crop issues), we offer a 100% refund or store credit—your choice.
-
Shipping Errors: If we ship your order to an address different from the one you provided at checkout, we will fix it immediately at our expense
Your Roses, Our Support
Having trouble with your roses? Oh, we feel that! Please reach out—we’d love to help you troubleshoot.
-
Our Response Time: We are a small, hands-on team. We review every message personally and will reply with care advice or guidance within 2 business days.
-
To receive personalized care support: Please send email to info@thebloomlibrary.ca with your order number and clear photos of the plant, the label, and the planting spot.
-
Arrival Issues: Any concerns regarding the health of the rose upon arrival must be reported with photos within 48 hours of delivery.
-
Spring Shyness: If a rose is slow to leaf out, contact us! Many roses can take more time than other to leaf out. While we do not offer refunds for plants that fail to grow after delivery (as this is often tied to local weather, variety-specific timing, or garden care), we are happy to guide you through "scratch tests" and recovery tips.
What We Simply Can’t Control
Some garden realities are beyond our reach once a Grade 1 rose is in your soil:
-
After-Delivery Adventures: Extreme weather, soil chemistry, watering rhythms, winter kill, or pests.
-
Shipping Battle Scars: Tiny cane scratches or minor tip breaks. Roses are resilient and will sprout anew from strong buds!
-
Long-Term Journeys: We guarantee the quality of the plant at the time of shipping, but months-later results depend on garden variables outside our control.
