Wellenspiel is a shrub rose from Kordes’ Fairy Tale collection, introduced in Germany in 2016. Large buds open into very full, cupped, old-fashioned blooms, about 9 cm across, in a cool, pastel pink. The fragrance is moderate and sweet with a spicy, peppery edge, and it won the fragrance award at the 2018 Kortrijk rose trials in Belgium, where it also took a silver medal. It went on to win a gold medal at Warsaw in 2021. The flowers come in clusters and repeat through the season. The plant is bushy and upright, about 120–150 cm tall and 80–100 cm wide, with glossy dark green foliage, and it looks good on its own or planted as a hedge.
