Summer Romance is a floribunda from Kordes' Parfuma collection, bred above all for fragrance. It also earned Germany's ADR rating, which is awarded only to roses that stay healthy over several years of trials with no spraying. Pointed buds open into very full, old-fashioned, quartered blooms of up to 75 petals in a rich mid-pink, about 9 cm across. The fragrance is strong and complex: classic rose with a spicy, anise-like note while the flower is fresh, softening into fresh apple as it opens. It's strongest at midday and in the evening. Flowers repeat in flushes all season and work well in a vase. The plant is upright and bushy at about 80–120 cm, with dense, dark green, leathery foliage that is very resistant to black spot.
A strongly scented, ADR-rated Kordes floribunda in mid-pink.
