Pompeji is a compact patio rose from Kordes in Germany, introduced in 2022. Its small, round, pompon-shaped blooms, about 4–5 cm across, are packed with petals in an unusual terracotta or brick red. Shades of russet orange, pink and red blend through each flower, which has a silvery reverse and deepens toward wine red as it ages. They come in dense clusters, repeat through the season, and last a long time both on the plant and in a vase. There's little to no fragrance, so this is a rose for colour and form rather than scent. The plant is upright, tidy and nearly thornless, about 50 cm tall and 30 cm wide, with glossy dark green foliage. It's healthy and reasonably winter hardy, and it's well suited to pots, patios, the front of a border and small gardens.
