Marylou Whitney is a hybrid tea bred in Canada by Brad Jalbert in 2011, named for the Saratoga Springs philanthropist and racing figure. It's a rose for fragrance lovers. The blooms are large, about 11 cm across, in soft light pink with a classic high-centred form, and they carry a strong damask perfume. Each flower comes on its own long stem, so it's an excellent cutting rose, and it repeats in flushes through the season. The plant grows tall and upright to about 1.2 m, with glossy dark green foliage. The stems are thorny, so wear gloves when cutting. Plant it in full sun, ideally near a path or patio where you'll catch the scent.
A light pink, strongly scented hybrid tea for cutting.
