Loves Me, Loves Me Not is a hybrid tea from Meilland in France, bred by Alain Meilland and introduced in North America by Star Roses. It’s named after the old petal-plucking game, which suits a rose with more than 200 petals in every bloom. The flowers are very large, about 13 cm across, deep rose-pink and lavishly cupped and ruffled, closer to a peony or an English rose than a classic hybrid tea. They sit on sturdy stems that hold the heavy blooms upright. The fragrance is strong and sweet, with notes of lilac, gardenia and pineapple. It repeats through the season and is an excellent cutting rose. The plant is upright and bushy at about 1.5 m tall and 60–90 cm wide, with dark green foliage, and grows well in a border or a large container of at least 50 cm across.
A deep pink hybrid tea with over 200 petals and a strong, sweet scent.
