Leonardo da Vinci is a floribunda from Meilland's Romantica series, bred by Alain Meilland and introduced in 1994. The series pairs old-fashioned flower form with modern repeat blooming. The blooms are large, about 11 cm across, packed with 75 to 80 petals and neatly quartered like an old garden rose. They're a rich medium pink and come in small clusters almost continuously from late spring into fall. The scent is mild, with a tea note. It won gold medals in European rose trials, including Monza in 1993. The flowers stand up well to rain and last well on the plant and in a vase. The shrub is bushy and medium-tall at about 1.2–1.5 m, with glossy, dark green, leathery foliage and a moderate number of thorns. It suits a border, a container or a cutting garden.
