Eustacia Vye is a David Austin English rose from 2019, named for the heroine of Thomas Hardy's The Return of the Native. The blooms are a soft, glowing apricot-pink, packed with up to 90 delicately ruffled petals and held on red-tinged stems. Each flower opens as a shallow cup, then becomes a full rosette that reveals deeper-coloured petals at the centre before gradually paling. The fragrance is strong and fruity. It repeats from early summer into late fall. David Austin describes it as a very healthy variety that forms a strong, vigorous shrub with bushy, upright growth, about 1.2 m tall and 60–90 cm wide. It handles windy spots and partial shade, and it's rated hardy to zone 4. It suits a border, a hedge or a large container.
