Elizabeth is a David Austin English rose introduced in 2022 and named in honour of Queen Elizabeth II. David Austin ranks it among its best roses for flowering, fragrance and health. The blooms are large, flat rosettes in clusters. They open a crisp apple-blossom pink with a soft glow at the centre, then pale to the gentlest blush white, so pink and white flowers sit together on the plant. The fragrance is strong, sweet and fresh, with hints of lemon sherbet and Old Rose. Flowers repeat from early summer into late fall. It grows into a large, shapely shrub of about 140 cm tall and wide. It's healthy and adaptable, and handles partial shade and windy, exposed spots better than most roses. It works as a specimen shrub, in a mixed border, as an informal hedge or in a large container, and the blooms are good for cutting.
A strongly scented, very healthy English rose in apple-blossom pink.
