Colette is a climber from Meilland's Romantica series, bred by Alain Meilland in France in 1994. The series pairs old-rose flower form and scent with modern repeat blooming. The flowers are packed with 135 to 140 short, ruffled petals and open from cups to quartered rosettes about 8 cm across. The colour is a warm coral-pink to soft apricot-pink, a little deeper in the centre and paler toward the edges. The scent is strong, sweet and tea-like. Flowers come singly or in small clusters, in repeat flushes through the season. It's a moderate climber, typically 2.5–3 m, so it fits an arch, trellis or fence without overwhelming it. The foliage is small and dark green, and the canes are well armed with prickles, so wear good gloves when tying it in.
