Cinderella Fairy Tale comes from the Kordes Fairy Tale collection. Kordes describes it as a soft-coloured shrub with the charm of old roses, and it has won gold medals in Baden-Baden, Geneva and Rome. The flowers are soft pink, about 10 cm across, very full and cupped in an old-fashioned style, and they come in small clusters. The scent is fresh and fruity with notes of apple, and it's strongest in the evening. The plant grows tall and upright with arching canes, reaching about 1.5 m. In warmer climates, those arching canes let it be trained as a short climber. The foliage is glossy, dark green and highly resistant to black spot. Give it a season to settle in: blooms are modest in the first year, but from the second year on it flowers generously, in repeat flushes from early summer into fall.
